Question
Answer
Additional Information for Cognos Analytics Project Team
Where will report developers develop reports in Analytics U?
The Data Architecture team will work direclty with report developers to move existing Cognos-U content to Analytics-U as well as configuring a development area and a deployment process.

Will a communication go out to BFHR User Group members regarding the upgrade and changes?
A notification will be posted on Cognos v10 to notify the NMSU community about Cognos Analytics. Documentation will be available in ICT Knowledgebase to assist end users in navigating to their new content.

Will content from "My Folders" be available?
At go-live, content from your "My Folders" will be deployed to Cognos Analtyics in the "My Content" area. Any new content placed in "My Folders" (Cognos v10) after Cognos Analytics is live will not be available so end users are encouraged to migrate to Cognos Analytics to avoid this synchronization issue.
Analytics-U was last refreshed from Cognos-P in December. Please contact the Data Architecture team (bfhr_adm@nmsu.edu) to have missing content deployed if needed.
What is the plan for deploying Cognos-P content to Analytics-P before go-live?
Prior to go-live, the Cognos-P content will be migrated to Analytics-P. As part of the deployment plan, there may be a short period where there is a "freeze" in development deployments. The Data Architecture team will keep the project team and report developers informed on this process.

Will all Cognos reports be available in Analtyics-U?
Yes, all Cognos-P reports will be available in the new Cognos Analytics environment on go-live day. Any content developed on Cognos-P after go-live will need to be deployed by the Cognos Administrator for deployment to Cognos Analytics. Once Cognos Analytics is live, we encourage all new development to occur in Cognos Analytics.

How are current development efforts impacted by the Cognos Analytics project?
Current development activities should continue and the Data Architecture team is deploying content to Analytics-P as part of any deployment requests. Development of Automic objects to run Cognos reports will require additional development work using the new Cognos agent dedicated to Cognos Analytics. Please contact the Data Architecture team for guidlines on this process.

When is signoff expected for Cognos Analytics?
Signoff is expected from members of the Cognos Analytics Project Team on March 19, 2021.

Will my report schedules be migrated to Cognos Analytics?
Yes, all Cognos-P report schedules will be migrated to the new Cognos Analytics environment. To prevent duplication of schedules (specifically those with email distribution), schedules will be turned off in Cognos-P (v10) and enabled in Cognos Analytics. Any new schedules should be developed in Cognos Analytics. A knowledgebase document will be available for step-by-step instructions.

What resources are available for transitioning to Cognos Analytics?
The ICT Knowledgebase (KB) is the repository for enterprise system documentation and can be accessed via Cognos Analytics under 'Quick Links > Help Documents' to find useful documents about navigation, report execution, scheduling and more.
Please use KB documents to assist in testing Cognos Analytics and provide feedback on any issues with existing documents or suggest new documents
I'm getting an error when I try to access a recent report  Occasionally you may encounter this error message when trying to run a report from your recent reports list: "No access. You don't have access to this asset. It might have been disabled, deleted or your permissions might have been reduced. Verify the state of the asset at it expected source location. You can remove the asset from your recent items by tapping OK." When reports are updated, a newer version is copied over the old version. This breaks the connection in the recent reports list. You will need to either navigate to the report through the menu or search for the report. Next, run the report. Next, after you run the newer version of the report, it will once again be available in your recent reports list.
