Office 365 - Download and Install Microsoft Office
How to download and install Microsoft Office 365
As a student at NMSU, you can download Microsoft Office 365 for free. Follow the instructions below to install Office 365 on your computer.
Step 1:
Begin by opening a new page or following the link provides in your web browser and navigating to the Microsoft education site at "www.microsoft.com/en-us/education/students".

Step 2:
Once this page loads, scroll down to the title "Get Office 365 for Free", enter your NMSU email address in the box provided, and click the blue button.
Step 3:
On the next page, you will be asked to select whether you are a Student or Teacher.
Note: Staff may click Teacher.
Step 4:
On the next page click, Sign in to continue. You will be redirected to the NMSU Office 365 Portal. Log in here using you NMSU credentials.
Step 5:
Follow the screen prompts. Once you are finished you should be in the NMSU office 365 portal. From here you will see a button that says Install Office, click on this button to move on to the "Office 365 App" selection for install.
Step 6:
Click the Office 365 App icon to begin downloading.
Step 7:
Open the Downloads folder on your computer and run the installer for the application(s) that you have chosen to download.
