Canvas iOS - Adding an Attachment to a Message Using the Canvas iOS app.

You can send attachments in conversations messages using the Canvas app.


The images shown in this document are taken from an iPhone but unless otherwise noted an iOS tablet will mirror the same steps. 


Open Messages

In the Dashboard, tap the Messages icon.

Compose New Message

Tap the Compose icon.

Add Attachment

Tap the Paper Clip icon.

Select Attachment Type

Select Attachment Type

To attach an existing photo on your iOS device, tap the Choose from Library... button [1]. Otherwise, you can tap the Take Photo or Video button [2] or Record Audio button [3].

To select an existing photo, locate and select a photo from a photo gallery on your device.

To take a new photo, make sure the media option is set to photo [1]. Tap the Camera icon [2].

If you want to re-take the photo, tap the Retake button [1]. Otherwise, tap the Use Photo link [2].

To take a new video, swipe your screen to set the media icon to video [1]. To record a new video, tap the Recording button [2].

Note: Canvas may ask permission to access your microphone.

To replay the video, tap the Play button [1]. If you want to re-record the video, tap the Retake button [2]. When you are finished, tap the Use Video button [3].
