myNMSU - Registering for Class

Instruction on how to register for classes via myNMSU


Please follow the steps below to register for classes at NMSU. Classes can be selected via the Look Up Classes link or the Add or Drop Classes.

Look Up Classes method
  1.  Log into your myNMSU and select the "Student" tab

  2. Once you've selected the "Student" tab, navigate to the Quick Links menu along the right side of the page. Within this menu, select the Registration link at the top of the menu.

  3. After selecting Registration, you will be redirected to a page asking you to "select registration term". Click on the drop-down menu and select the term you are wanting to register for.

  4. Next, you will be redirected again to a Registration page. Here, you are presented with a number of links. Among these links, you will see a link entitled Look Up Classes. Select this link.

  5. Again, you will be redirected to a page asking you to select a term to register. Select the appropriate term and submit.

  6. You will be taken to the Advanced Search page. This page provides a number of options that can help you register for classes including subject, campus location, part of the term, instructor, session, etc. At the minimum, scroll through the Subject box and select the subject you wish to register under and click the Selection Search button at the bottom of the page.

  7. This will redirect you to the Look Up Classes page. Depending on the parameters set during the previous step, this page will display a list of available classes. Scroll through this list and find the class you need to register for.

  8. Once you have located the class you would like to register for, click on the checkbox to the left of the selected class. If a "C" appears near the class, that section of the class is closed.

  9. After checking the box for the class or classes you need, scroll down to the bottom of the page and select the button entitled "Register".

  10.  Before your registration is complete, you will be asked to agree to NMSU's terms and conditions. Select the checkbox to the left of the prompt before clicking the button "click to proceed".

  11. Next, you will be redirected to the Add or Drop Classes page. Here, the classes you are currently registered for will be listed.
