NMSU Exchange E-mail setup - Outlook 2013
Instructions to set up NMSU Exchange E-mail on Microsoft Outlook 2013
These instructions can be used to set up NMSU Exchange E-mail on Microsoft Outlook 2013. By completing these steps, you can use Microsoft Outlook 2013 to view and send NMSU Exchange e-mail instead of going through the NMSU website.
To complete these steps, you must have Microsoft Outlook 2013 installed on your computer and an NMSU Exchange e-mail account. If you do not have an NMSU Exchange account (an e-mail address that ends with @ad.msu.edu), please e-mail email@example.com to request this service.
- Open the Outlook 2013 program. Click and expand the File menu. Within this menu, select the add account option. This will open an account information prompt window. In this window, type your name in the Your Name box. Below, type in your local exchange e-mail address (firstname.lastname@example.org) in the E-mail address box. Finally, type your NMSU password in the Password and Retype Password boxes.
- The above step will automatically configure your account. Once the configuration is complete, click finish.
- After completing the configuration step you may get a notice to restart Outlook, click OK if this prompt appears. After restarting (if applicable), you will be asked to type in your NMSU password. This will occur the first time you open your account in Outlook. If you would like Outlook to remember this password for the future, check the Remember my credentials box before clicking OK.
*Note: If you are not on your personal computer, you may access your Exchange e-mail by going to https://exchange.nmsu.edu. In the username, box be sure to type acn\ before your username.
