NMSU Exchange E-mail setup - Outlook 2011 & 2016 (Mac)
Instructions to set up NMSU exchange e-mail in Outlook 2011 & 2016
These instructions can be used to set up NMSU Exchange E-mail on Microsoft Outlook 2011 and 2016. By completing these steps, you can use Microsoft Outlook 2011 to view and send NMSU Exchange e-mail instead of going through the NMSU website.
Note: Your screens may look different from the examples below depending on the version of Outlook you are using.
To complete these steps, you must have Microsoft Outlook 2011 installed on your computer and an NMSU Exchange e-mail account. If you do not have an NMSU Exchange account (an email address that ends with @ad.nmsu.edu), email email@example.com to request this service.
- Open Outlook 2011. Click Tools. In the Tools menu, click on Accounts. In the Accounts window, click on the plus sign at the bottom left of the window. This is the Add a new Account button. In the drop down menu, click Exchange.
- The next window will ask for your Exchange account information. In the E-mail address field, type in your NMSU Exchange e-mail address. Under Authentication, make sure that User Name and Password is selected from the Method menu. In the username field, type in your NMSU e-mail address. In the Password field, type in your NMSU password. Check the box labeled Configure automatically. Now click Add Account.
- Your account will now be listed in the Accounts window. Close the window to begin viewing your mail.
NOTE: If you are not on your personal computer, you can access your Exchange e-mail by going to https://exchange.nmsu.edu. In the User name box, be sure to type acn\ before your username. *The slash in the username field is a backslash (\).
