Connect to NMSU's Aggie Air Wireless Internet Connections

How to connect to NMSU's wifi


Windows XP and Vista



Wireless Internet can be accessed at many locations within the NMSU campus. Click here for a list of all wireless Internet locations. 
You will need to supply your own "Wi-Fi" compatible Network Card using the IEEE 802.11 wireless network standard if you are using a wireless connection. 

1. Click on the network icon in the lower right-hand corner of the taskbar. Click Connect or disconnect. A list of networks you can connect to will appear: click on Aggie-Air.

*Note: The network icon will have a red "x" when not connected to the Internet and a globe when connected. 
**Note: The first time you bring up the Internet with your wireless connection, you will see the NMSU Network Registration page (http://netreg.nmsu.edu/). Follow the registration instructions to connect to the NMSU Network and use the NMSU campus Internet.

*Note: The network icon will have a yellow star when not connected to the Internet and white bars when connected. 
**Note: The first time you bring up the Internet with your wireless connection, you will see the NMSU Network Registration page (http://netreg.nmsu.edu/). Follow the registration instructions to connect to the NMSU Network and use the NMSU campus Internet.

1. Click on the AirPort icon in the top right-hand corner of the desktop and Turn AirPort On. A list of networks you can connect to will appear in the menu: select Aggie-Air.

*Note: The AirPort icon will be an empty upside-down triangle when off and a series of horizontal lines when on. 
**Note: The first time you bring up the Internet with your wireless connection, you will see the NMSU Network Registration page (http://netreg.nmsu.edu/). Follow the registration instructions to connect to the NMSU Network and use the NMSU campus Internet.
