NMSU Local Exchange Email on Mobile Device

Follow the instructions below to set up your NMSU local exchange email on your mobile device. By doing so, you will be able to view and sent emails from your NMSU exchange account.

E-mail Set Up for iPhone, iPod, and iPad 

These instructions can be used to set up your iPhone, iPod, or iPad to view your NMSU local exchange email. By setting up your iPhone, iPod, or iPad with your NMSU e-mail, you can use it to view and send e-mail from your NMSU account instead of going through the NMSU website. 
  1. Go to Settings. Click on Mail, Contacts, Calendars. In the Mail, Contacts, Calendars menu, click on Add Account. From the options, click on Exchange

  2. On the next screen, type in the following information and select Done. 

    1. Email address: enter your full email address in this box; make sure to include the @ad.nmsu.edu suffix. 
    2. Domain: acn
    3. Username: your email address without the @ad.nmsu.edu
    4. Password: use your myNMSU password
    5. Server name: exchange.nmsu.edu

     Next, you can type in what you want to refer to the account as in Description; it will default to Exchange or your email address. Click Next. You will see a screen with sync options for your account. Click Save. Your inbox can now be accessed using the Mail app and your account settings can be accessed in Mail, Contacts, Calendars under the Accounts section.

Android 7+
Email setup Set Up for Android OS 7.0+ devices  

These instructions can be used to set up your Android OS 7.0 + Devices to view your NMSU local exchange email. By setting up your Android OS 7.0 + Devices with your NMSU e-mail, you can use it to view and send e-mail from your NMSU account instead of going through the NMSU website. 

1. Open the Settings app.

2. Select the Accounts option listed under Personal

3. Choose Exchange or Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync. Another option may be Exchange ActiveSync in some versions. If you do not see this option, select the Add Account option at the bottom of the page and search for one of the options mentioned above.

5. Enter your myNMSU email address, including the @ad.nmsu.edu suffix, and password then select Manual Setup.

6. Setup will now redirect you to the Manual Setup page.  The default settings will be blank or incorrect. To continue setup, erase any default settings then enter the ones listed below. Once those settings are entered, select sign in.

3. Username: your email address without the @ad.nmsu.edu
4. Password: use your myNMSU password
5. Server name: exchange.nmsu.edu

Note: Sign in may take several minutes

7. Once sign in is complete, you will be asked to name your account. Enter a name of your choice or maintain the default settings then select Done.

Exchange email setup for other devices will vary based on the device's age, current software, manufacturer, etc. Navigate the setup steps detailed by your device and make sure the following settings are correct: 

1. Email address: enter your full email address in this box; make sure to include the @ad.nmsu.edu suffix. 
2. Domain: acn
3. Username: your email address without the @ad.nmsu.edu
4. Password: use your myNMSU password
5. Server name: exchange.nmsu.edu
