Google Chrome - Manage bookmarks

You can edit, delete, and organize the webpages you bookmark to make it easier to find them.

You can also update your bookmarks across your devices so that they show up in Chrome whenever you log in.


Edit bookmark details

You can edit your bookmarks to change their titles or to add notes. You can fit more items into your bookmarks bar if you shorten their names.

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click More More.
  3. Click Bookmarks and then Bookmark Manager.
  4. Point to the bookmark you want to edit.
  5. To the right of the bookmark, click the More More, to the far right of the bookmark.
  6. Click Edit.
  7. Edit the name or web address of your bookmark.

Delete bookmarks

You can delete a single bookmark or several bookmarks at once.

Note: Once you delete a bookmark, you can’t get it back.

Delete one bookmark

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click More More.
  3. Click Bookmarks and then Bookmark Manager.
  4. Point to the bookmark you want to edit.
  5. To the right of the bookmark, click the More More, to the far right of the bookmark.
  6. Click Delete.

Delete multiple bookmarks

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click More More.
  3. Click Bookmarks and then Bookmark Manager.
  4. Point to the bookmark you want to edit.
  5. To the right of the bookmark, click the More More, to the far right of the bookmark.
  6. Click Delete.

Organize bookmarks

If you’re using Chrome on a computer, you can organize your bookmarks and file them in custom folders.

Alphabetize bookmarks

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click More More.
  3. Click Bookmarks and then Bookmark Manager.
  4. Browse to the folder you want to organize.
  5. Above your bookmarks, click Organize.
  6. Click Reorder by Title. Your bookmarks will be listed in alphabetical order.

Delete a bookmark folder

You can delete a bookmark folder at any time. This will delete all of the bookmarks in it and you won’t be able to get them back.

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click More More.
  3. Click Bookmarks and then Bookmark Manager.
  4. Point to the bookmark you want to edit.
  5. To the right of the bookmark, click the More More, to the far right of the bookmark.
  6. Click Delete. This will permanently delete all the bookmarks in that folder.

Rename a bookmark folder

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click More More.
  3. Click Bookmarks and then Bookmark Manager.
  4. Point to the bookmark folder you want to edit.
  5. To the right of the bookmark, click the Edit.
  6. This will open a new window through which you can enter in a new name. Once you enter the desired name click Save.

Use the Bookmarks Manager extension

With the new Bookmarks Manager extension, you can see bookmarks as square tiles that you can touch or click to view and organize.
