NETGEAR - Find Your Passphrase or Network Key on a Windows Device

You will need your routers passphrase/network key to successfully configure your range extender. An alternative way to gather your routers network credentials on Windows 10 is via network connections. Make sure your Windows 10 machine is connected to your routers wireless network.

To obtain your routers passphrase/network key:

  1. Select the search box in the taskbar, enter “view network connections” in the search box and select View network connections from the search results list.
  2. In Network Connections, right-click the network name and select Status > Wireless Properties.
  3. Select the Security tab and select Show characters.

The password for the wireless network is displayed in the Network security key field.
