Norton (Win) - Message: "Cannot connect to the Norton server"
To check if the issue you are experiencing is related to a known system problem or outage, visit Norton Services Status page. You see the message: "Unexpected Browser error or Cannot connect to the Norton server" when you activate your Norton product. To resolve this issue, set a default web browser on your Windows 10 computer. On other versions of Windows, change your default web browser.
On your Windows desktop, go to

.Under Web browser, select the web browser that you want to set as default.
Activate your Norton product.
Press the Run dialog box.

If the User Account Control window appears, click .
In the Control Panel window, next to View by, select from the drop-down list.
In the Control Panel window, click .
Under Default Programs, click .
In the Set your default programs window, under Programs, select your preferred browser and click .
