Firefox - My Mac Won't shut down After Updating to Version 45

In Firefox version 44, there is a known issue that prevents some Mac users from shutting down their computers after updating to version 45. This is a known issue and we are working hard to fix this.

For an immediate workaround, you can type in the following commands to shut down your computer (this requires some knowledge of the Terminal program):

  1. In the Spotlight Search, search for Terminal.
  2. This will open up the Terminal window. You will see :~ <username>$ in the Terminal window.
  3. Type in or paste the following and press enter:
sudo killall launchservicesd && sudo killall Dock
