myNMSU - Schedule Builder

All students currently enrolled at NMSU have access to the NMSU Schedule Builder through their my.nmsu portal. This tool allows students to create a custom plan for their semester including the courses to be taken, scheduled break times, choosing the method of instruction, and the campus location, to name but a few of this tool's functions.


The Schedule Builder tool is accessible through the myNMSU portal. 

*If you need assistance logging into your my.nmsu portal visit the "myNMSU - How to Log into myNMSU" document.  

Step 1:
Once you are logged into the NMSU portal, navigate to the primary tabs in the upper left corner and click on Student

Step 2:
Navigate to the "Quick Links" menu on the right side of the screen and select the Aggie Schedule Builder link.

*This will redirect you to the Aggie Schedule Builder portal. 

Step 3:
First, you will need to select the campus location or locations from which you would like to view courses. Once you have made the appropriate selection(s) click the Save and Continue button at the bottom of the screen.

You will now be at the primary menu for the Aggie Schedule Builder. From here you can adjust all the specifications for your schedule in order to make it to your liking. 

Course Status

To view and select new settings click the Change button to the right of "Couse Status".

From here you will have three options:
  • Open Classes Only 
  • Open & Full w/Waitlist Open
  • Open & Full
Once you made your desired selection click the Save button at the bottom right of your screen.

Instruction Modes 

To view and select new settings click the Change button to the right of "Instruction Modes".

From here you will have three options as well as a "Select All Instruction Modes" option. The other options are:
  • Online or Online with Limited Classroom 
  • Traditional 
  • High School Students Only
Once you made your desired selection click the Save button at the bottom right of your screen.

Campuses

*You already made a selection for the campus upon entering the Aggie Schedule Builder
To view and select new settings click the Change button to the right of "Campuses".

From here you will have several options including:
  • NMSU - Las Cruces (Main)
  • NMSU - Alamogordo
  • NMSU - Carlsbad 
  • NMSU - Grants
  • DACC - Chaparral Center
  • DACC - East Mesa Campus 
  • DACC - Espina Campus
  • DACC - Gadsden Education Ctr
  • DACC - Sunland Park Center 
  • DACC - Other 
You can also select all of the campuses but you must make at least one selection. 
Once you made your desired selection click the Save button at the bottom right of your screen.

Term 

This will default to the upcoming semester coming. 


Parts of Term 

To view and select new settings click the Change button to the right of "Parts of Term".

From here you will have several options including:
  • First 8 Weeks 
  • Full Term
  • Second 8 Weeks 
  • Short Course
By default, all of these will be selected. 

Once you made your desired selection click the Save button at the bottom right of your screen.

Once you make your selections from the categories above you can make your course selections and schedule your breaks.

Courses 

Click on the button to the right of "Courses" Add Course. This will take you to a new screen from which you can select and add your desired courses.

From here you will need to search for your desired course. First, select the appropriate Subject then move to the next drop-down menu and select the Course.

Once you have selected a course description will be displayed describing the course. If you wish to add the selected course click the Add Course button below the drop-down menus. You can search for another course or if you are finished you can click the Done button to exit. 

Breaks 

Click on the button to the right of "Breaks" Add Break. This will take you to a new screen from which you can name and schedule breaks. To complete a scheduled break and add it to your Schedule Builder you will need to make a selection or entry in each of the displayed entry points:

Break Name - Here you will name your break (e.g. lunch, nap, gym etc.)
Start Time - The time you plan to start your break
End Time - the time you plan to end your break
Days - Which days of the week you would like this break to apply

*If your break time or day interferes with a scheduled course Schedule Builder will not allow you to complete the entry. 

Generate Schedules

Once you have added all your desired "Courses" and "Breaks" move to the bottom of the main window and click the Generate Schedules button to complete your schedule. 

You are now able to view and print all schedules that you generate.
