Microsoft Excel (Mac) - How to hide overflow in Excel

When you type in a cell and the text is wider than the cell, the text overflows into the adjacent cells in the row. Thus, if there is any text in the adjacent cell, the text in the first cell is blocked by the text in the adjacent cell.

To hide the overflow text select the cell containing the text that's overflowing and complete the following steps:

Step 1:

Right-click on the selected cell(s) and select Format Cells.

passphrase select cells
Step 2:

On the "Format Cells" dialogue box, click on the Alignment tab. Then, click on the Horizontal dropdown arrow to select Fill and click OK.

passphrase select fill and click ok

As you can see the overflow text in the first cell does not show even when there is nothing in the cell to the right.
